  • November 2024: The Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) occupied all fragmented under government-SDF joint control in eastern Syria.
  • November 2024: Amid the collapse of pro-government forces in Northwestern Syria, the Kurdish majority Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) entered the towns of Dayr Hafir, Tell Aran, Tell Hasel, and the Shaykh Najjar district of Aleppo city, taking over from pro-government forces.
  • November 2024: The SDF captured Aleppo International Airport and the towns of Nubbul and Al-Zahraa, following the withdrawal of pro-government forces.
  • November 2024: Opposition forces capture several towns, including Taybat al-Imam, Kafr Zita, Latamneh, and Morek.
  • December 2024: The Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) launched an offensive on the town of Tell Rifaat, capturing the town along with several surrounding villages.
  • December 2024: The Kurdish SDF captured Deir ez-Zor in an offensive east of the Euphrates.
  • December 2024: Rebels also seized Quneitra Governorate after pro-government forces withdrew towards Damascus.
  • December 2024: The US-backed Syrian Free Army (SFA) took control of Palmyra in the southeast of the country.
  • December 2024: The Syrian Army surrenders the capital Damascus to the opposition.
  • December 2024: The Syrian transitional Government was established in December 2024 by the Syrian opposition after Ahmed al-Sharaa, Emir of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham and now the de facto Syrian head of state, appointed Mohammed al-Bashir as Prime Minister, replacing Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali on 10 December.
  • November 2024: On 27 November 2024, the Military Operations Command launched an offensive against the government forces in western Aleppo Governorate.
  • November 2024: On 28 November, the Military Operations Command captured the villages of Dadikh, Kafr Batikh and Sheikh Ali as well as a neighborhood in the city of Saraqib.
  • November 2024: In the early hours of 30 November, revolutionary forces captured the Citadel of Aleppo. By morning, revolutionary forces had seized control of most of Aleppo. The government troops retreated toward As-Safira.
  • November 2024: The Military Operations Command took control of Aleppo airport after the local SDF troops opted to withdraw.
  • December 2024: The remaining SDF-controlled towns in the Idlib And Aleppo region were besieged and cut off from communication after being encircled by Turkish-backed opposition forces.
  • December 2024: On 5 December 2024, opposition forces captured Hama.
  • December 2024: On 3 December, rebel forces continued their advance on the pro-government forces, capturing the towns of Taybat al-Imam, Halfaya, Soran, and Maardis.
  • December 2024: Rebels captured the cities of Daraa and Izra.
  • December 2024: In Suwayda protesters took over the city
  • December 2024: By the beginning of 7 December, rebels had captured 90% of Daraa Governorate, with the exception of Sanamayn.
  • December 2024: On 7 December 2024, HTS-led rebels had reached the outskirts of Homs city amid heavy fighting.
  • December 2024: By the early morning of 8 December 2024, the Syrian rebels declared that they had fully captured the city of Homs, effectively cutting Latakia Governorate off from the rest of the country.
  • December 2024: After the capture of Damascus by the Southern Operations Roomopposition forces began advancing on Latakia and Tartus, capturing them without a battle.
  • December 2024: The Kurdish SDF forces withdrew from Manbij.
  • November 2024: Islamist and nationalist rebel forces united into the Military Operations Command. The group is considered a polity in the model from November 27th, 2024, when it launched an offensive against pro-Assad forces.

  • December 2024: Several towns in Daraa Governorate came under the control of local forces organized in the Southern Operations Room.
