Establishment
January 1511: In 1510, as part of the Reconquista, the Spaniards seized Bejaia, which was in the hands of dissident Hafsid emirs. They organized raids in the hinterland from this position. The Berbers of the region sought protection in the interior and took as their new capital the Kalâa of the Beni Abbas, in the heart of the Bibans mountains.

January 1530: A treaty is signed between the Kingdom ot Ait Abbas and the Kingdom of Kalâa.
January 1516: The Kingdom of Kuku was founded by the Kabyle Berber leader, Kuku, in 1515. It encompassed a significant portion of greater Kabylia in North Africa. Kuku was known for his military prowess and strategic leadership in uniting the Kabyle tribes under his rule.
January 1517: The kingdom of Ait Abbas under Abdelaziz extended to the south and the surrounding mountains.
January 1520: Thanks to the reinforcements sent by the Hafsids of Tunis, Ahmed Belkadi, Sultan of Koukou, succeeded in heavily defeating Kheireddine Barbarossa during the Battle of the Issers to the west of Kabylia in 1519. This victory opened the way to Algiers in 1520 and he was then in effect both "King of Koukou" and "King of Algiers" for 7 years. Kheireddine Barbarossa is during this period forced to fall back on Jijel.
January 1543: In 1542, the regency of Algiers allowed the lord of the Kalâa to rule in the Medjana.

January 1560: In 1559, the Kingdom of Ait Abbas gained control of Touggourt. El Hadj Khichan el Merbaï, a member of the loyal Hachem tribe, was appointed as Sheikh of Touggourt by the Kingdom.
January 1560: Tolga and Biskra conquered by Kingdom of Ait Abbas.
January 1574: Ahmed Amokrane, a prominent leader of the Kingdom of Ait Abbas, conquered the territory of the Ouled Naïl from Bou Saâda to Djelfa.

January 1801: The Kingdom of Ait Abbas is annexed to the Ottoman Empire.
