Was a short-lived republic founded in Milan by members of the University of Pavia with popular support, during the first phase of the Milanese War of Succession.

  • August 1447: Repubblica Ambrosiana is the name given to the republican government created in Milan in 1447 by a group of nobles and jurists from the University of Pavia following the power vacuum created with the death of Filippo Maria Visconti.
  • October 1447: With the death of Filippo Maria Visconti in Milan in 1447, Venice took advantage of this to occupy Lodi and Piacenza.
