Was one of the many precolonial polities created by the Hausa people in Niger and Nigeria.
Establishment
January 1201: Gobir was a city-state in what is now Nigeria. Founded by the Hausa in the eleventh century, Gobir was one of the seven original kingdoms of Hausaland.
January 1201: Zamfara Kingdom was established in the 11th century and flourished up to 16th century as a city-state.

Was an Islamic jihad and military expedition of Usman Dan Fodiyo, ruler of the Sokoto Caliphate, against the Hausa Kingdoms of preswnt-day Nigeria and Cameroon.
April 1805: Gobir captured the village of Matankari.
January 1809: In 1808, the jihadists of the Sokoto Caliphate captured Gobir.
January 1743: The Hausa kingdom of Gobir expands to include Zinder (Niger) and Sabon Birni (Nigeria).
January 1765: The state of Zamfara was suppressed by Gobir.
January 1775: Mirriah, a city in West Africa, became the seat of an independent Sossébaki state under the rule of Bazaza, a prominent leader in the region, in 1774. The territory eventually came under the control of the Myrria Kingdom.
January 1808: Originally part of Katsina, a Hausa state, it became independent in the 19th century.
Disestablishment
January 1809: In 1808, the jihadists of the Sokoto Caliphate captured Gobir.
