Was an Empire in West Africa, founded in antiquity around 350 AD. It was located in in modern-day Mauretania and Mali. The empire was a vassal of Sosso for a period.

Establishment

  • January 1204: Soumaoro Kanté, head of the kingdom of Sosso, seized Ghana in 1203.
