  • January 1201: The Hausa kingdoms are kingdoms in the northwest of present-day Nigeria and south of present-day Niger. Hausa-speaking peoples have occupied this territory since before our era. They are grouped into the seven Hausa states comprising the city-states of Biram, Daoura, Katsina, Zaria, Kano, Rano, and Gobir.

    Was an Islamic jihad and military expedition of Usman Dan Fodiyo, ruler of the Sokoto Caliphate, against the Hausa Kingdoms of preswnt-day Nigeria and Cameroon.
