Was an ancient kingdom located in northwestern Iran, south of Lake Urmia. It was a vassal of the Assyrian Empire from 717 BC.

Establishment

January 716 BC: The Assyrians only subjugated Manna, and also built fortresses in Media and Persia (Kar-Sharrukin and Kar-Nergal).

Disestablishment

January 629 BC: After the death of Ashurbanipal and the start of the Scythian campaigns around 630, Assyria was largely eliminated as a power factor. Presumably Manna was able to restore his independence.
