Establishment

January 1831: It was founded in 1830 when Omukama Kaboyo Olimi I, the eldest son of Omukama of Bunyoro Nyamutukura Kyebambe III of Bunyoro, seceded and established his own independent kingdom.

1. Events

January 1877: The Kingdom of Tooro is absorbed into Bunyoro-Kitara in 1876.

January 1892: he Kingdom of Tooro reasserted its independence in 1891.

Disestablishment

January 1897: In 1894 the British government declares a protectorate over Buganda. Two years later British control is extended to cover the western kingdoms of Ankole, Toro and Bunyoro.
