Was a medieval Indo-Muslim kingdom established in the early 15th century in Western India, primarily in the present-day state of Gujarat, India.
Establishment
January 1408: Following Timur's invasion of Delhi, the Delhi Sultanate weakened considerably so Zafar Khan declared himself independent in 1407 and formally established Gujarat Sultanate.

January 1573: Mughal emperor Akbar annexed Gujarat in 1572.
January 1426: The state was founded in 1425 by Rana Kumbha of Mewar as Kanthal State. It was later renamed after its capital located in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan.
January 1435: According to tradition the predecessor state was established in 1225 by descendants of Sidhraj, Raja of Anhilwara Patan, as the state of Virpur. In 1434, Rana Bhimsinghji moved the capital to Lunavada on the other side of the Mahi river. Before the town was established, the area was controlled by the princely Sant State.
January 1443: Muhammad Shah II (r. 1442 - 1451) first led a campaign against Idar and forced its ruler, Raja Hari Rai or Bir Rai to submit to his authority.
January 1443: The Gujarat Sultanate exacted tribute from the Rawal of Dungarpur.
January 1467: Malpur State was founded in 1466, but little is known about its early history.
January 1473: The last king of the Chudasama dynasty, Mandalika III, was defeated and forcibly converted to Islam in 1472 by Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada, who also annexed the state.
January 1501: During local princely states existence in Kathiyawad, there were approximately 222 small & medium princely states. During that era, Limbdi was also a princely state. During the time span from 1768 to 1948, many rulers had taken charge of Limbdi starting from Harisinhji, Bhojrajji, Harbhamji, Fatesinhji, Jashwantsinhji, Jatashankar.
January 1502: For over 450 years, the coastal enclaves of Daman (Portuguese: Damão) and Diu on the Arabian Sea coast were part of Portuguese India, along with Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
January 1510: In 1509, the Portuguese wrested Diu from Gujarat sultanate following the battle of Diu.
January 1525: The state of Baria was founded around 1524.
January 1528: Banswara State was founded in 1527 by Maharawal Jagmal Singh. It was a princely state in present-day Rajasthan, India. The territory was established after the decline of the Mewar Kingdom, with Banswara becoming the capital.
January 1533: In 1532, Gujarat came under attack of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and fell.
January 1537: Bahadur Shah regained theGujarat Sultanate.
January 1541: Portuguese establish an ouputs in Surat.
January 1541: Nawanagar was founded in 1540 by Jam Sri Rawalji, a descendant of the Jadeja ruler of Kutch, and was thereafter in an almost constant state of war with its neighbours and with the Mughal Empire.
January 1560: Damão was conquered by the Portuguese.
January 1561: The Gujarat army defeated Miran Mubarak Khan II and took back Sultanpur and Nandurbar.
January 1567: Miran Muhammad Shah II was the ruler of the Ahmadnagar Sultanate, succeeding his father Miran Mubarak in 1566. Changiz Khan, a noble from Gujarat, took advantage of the transition of power and attacked Nandurbar, a territory under Ahmadnagar Sultanate's control, before advancing towards Thalner.
Disestablishment
January 1573: Mughal emperor Akbar annexed Gujarat in 1572.
