1. Events
January 1682: In 1681, the territory shown on the map was under the rule of the Kingdom of Khasso.
January 1708: Sarakholés was a prominent leader from Kaarta who peacefully established the kingdom of Galam in 1707 without any military conflict. This marked the beginning of a new era in the region, with Galam becoming a significant political entity under his rule.
January 1726: The Imamate of Futa Jallon is founded in 1725 by a Fulani-led jihadists.
January 1804: Kingdom of Khasso conquered by Kaarta.
January 1849: The Toucouleur Empire was established in 1848.
