After the dissolution of the Seljuk Empire, it succeded the Empire in Khorasan (Iran).
Establishment
January 1158: Territorial change based on available maps.
January 1158: When Sultan Ahmad Sanjar died in 1157, the atabegs (governos) of the Seljuk Empire became effectively independent.

1. Events
January 1161: During his reign, Eldiguz could subdue a spacious territory between the Caucasus and Persian Gulf.
January 1167: Georgian king George III marched into Arran at the beginning of 1166 and occupied a region extending to faraway cities as Nakhchivan and Beylagan.
February 1167: After devastating a region including Arran, Nakhchivan and Beylagan the Georgian army left the area.
January 1181: The Western Kara-Khanid Khanate fell to the Khwarazmian Empire.
January 1187: The Ghurid dynasty overthrew the Ghaznavid Empire in 1186 when Sultan Mu'izz ad-Din Muhammad of Ghor conquered the last Ghaznavid capital of Lahore.
Disestablishment
January 1201: Khorasan was finally conquered by Khwarazmians in the early 1200s.
