Was a successor to the Jolof Empire after the Battle of Danki. It was located in central Senegal.

Establishment


  • January 1550: After the Battle of Danki were the forces of the Jolof Empire were defeated by the rebellious vassal of Cayor, the Empire disintegrated and was reduced to a Rump state.

  • January 1826: In the Franco-Trarzan War of 1825, the French started to assert control of the mouth of the Senegal river against the rival state of Trarza.

  • November 1865: In 1865, Maba Diakhou Bâ, with the assistance of Lat Dior and his Cayor forces, initiated the conquest of the Kingdom of Baol in the Kingdom of Rip. This marked the beginning of their campaign to conquer the neighboring states of Sine and Djolof.
