Establishment
January 1531: In 1530, the territory of Angola was under the Kingdom of Ngola-Ndongo. The title of "Angola" was listed among the titles of the King of Kongo in 1535, suggesting a subordinate relationship between the two kingdoms at that time.

1. Events
January 1576: In 1575, the settlement of Luanda was established on the coast south of the Kongo Kingdom.
January 1601: The origins of the polity of Mbwila are unknown, and it is first mentioned only in the early seventeenth century.
January 1618: In 1617, the territory of Benguela was officially incorporated into the Portuguese colony of Angola.
Disestablishment
January 1658: Portuguese conquest of the Kingdom of Ngola-Ndongo.
