Initially, it was a vassal kingdom of the Kingdom of Hungary, it became an independent kingdom, after the collapse of the central power in the Kingdom of Hungary.
Establishment
January 1283: The territory of Syrmia became independent from the Kingdom of Hungary after the collapse of central power.

1. Events
January 1295: A joint force of the Serbian Kings Dragutin and Stefan Milutin managed to defeat the brothers Darman and Kudelin, who were jointly ruling the region of Braničevo.
January 1302: After the extinction of the Árpád dynasty in 1301, Ugrin Csak became one of the so-called oligarchs or provincial lords, who ruled de facto independently their dominions.
January 1315: Upon the death of Stefan Dragutin, who ruled northern Serbia, death in 1314 Serbian King Milutin conquered most of his lands including Belgrade.
Disestablishment
January 1326: Belgrade and the northern part of Banate of Macsó along the river Sava remained under the rule of the Kingdom of Hungary.
January 1326: Braničevo and the southern part of Mačva remained Serbian.
