Establishment
January 1101: Kyburg county came into being in the 11th century from the connection between Adelheid, the daughter of Adalbert, the last lord of Winterthur, and Hartmann I von Dillingen, who from then on called himself von Kyburg after his new ancestral seat.

1. Events
January 1174: The Counts of Kyburg ruled over the Zug area since the Lenzburgers died out in 1173.
January 1219: When the Zähringer family died out in 1218, Freiburg passed to the Counts of Kyburg by inheritance.
January 1265: After the Kyburgs died out in 1264, their possessions passed to the Habsburgs through inheritance.
Disestablishment
January 1278: Freiburg im Üechtland was bought by the House of Habsburg in 1277 for 3040 silver marks.
