January 1016: Looz County is first mentioned in 1015.

Was a war of succession over the County of Holland from 1203 until 1206, brought on by the death of count Dirk VII.
January 1205: In 1204, Louis II of Loon invaded Holland with a massive army, and managed to expel William of Frisia to Zeeland.
January 1206: From 1205 William of Frisia was supported by the inhabitants of Zeeland, Kennemerland and Rhineland.
April 1206: Louis II of Loon retreated from Holland in early 1206.
October 1206: On 14 October 1206, peace was signed with the Treaty of Bruges. Formally, Holland was partitioned between Louis and William: William of Frisia received Zeeland and the region around the city of Geertruidenberg, Louis II of Loon would keep the rest Holland.
January 1211: Several sources show that William of Frisia became the de facto ruler of Holland. For example, William called himself simply comes Hollandiae ("count of Holland") in a 1210 deed.
Disestablishment
January 1367: Looz falls to the Bishopric of Liège.
