The Vaghelas, who had earlier served as Chaulukya generals, usurped the power and established a new dynasty in the 1240s centered in northern Gujarat, India.

January 1251: Lathi (princely state of Gohil dynasty) is a town with municipality in Amreli district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Famously known by Bhagvanji Jagjivan sharma after Kavi kalapi. Sejakji received Shahpur along with 24 villages in jagir, in the midst of which he founded a capital in 1250, naming it Sejakpur after himself.
January 1256: According to bardic history, the Sant State was founded in c. 1255 by an individual named Sant who had been forced to leave Jhalod upon the military defeat of his father, Jalamsingh.
January 1258: Idar State was a princely state that was founded in 1257. Its rulers were Rathore Rajputs. The original rulers of Idar were Kolis of the Bhalsur tribe.
January 1286: The thakurs of Piploda were Dodia Rajputs from the Kathiawar region, one of the ancestors called Kaluji migrated to Malwa and captured the fort of Sabalgarh in 1285.
Disestablishment
January 1305: Vaghela ruler Karna was defeated by Alauddin Khalji of Delhi Sultanate in 1304 CE.
