  • January 1101: Odanad was a feudal state in late medieval Kerala. It was established in the 11th century.

  • January 1331: The Pandyas were a dynasty in South India, known for their rule in the region. In 1330, they shifted their capital to Tenkasi, where they continued to govern a small territory until the late 16th century. During this time, they were known as the Tenkasi Pandyas.

  • January 1444: Deva Raya II (1424-1446 AD), king of the Vijayanagara Empire, conquered the whole of present-day Kerala state in the 15th century. He defeated (1443) rulers of Venadu (Kollam, Quilon), as well as Kozhikode.

  • January 1501: As the Vijayanagara power declined, the Samoothiri regained influence in the region of Venad Kingdom,
