Was an Iranian dynasty that ruled Tabaristan. In 1042 the Seljuks invaded the territories of the Ziyarids and reduced them to vassals.
Establishment
January 931: Ibn Ziyar (r. c. 931-935), a noble military leader from Gilan, took advantage of the collapse of the Abbasid Caliphate and the rebellion of a Samanid general to establish an independent rule on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea.
January 931: Central iran with Hamadan, Kashan e Isfahan conquered by Ziyarid Dynasty.

January 1036: The Seljuk Empire or Seljuq Empire was established and ruled by the Qïnïq branch of Oghuz Turks.
January 1043: In 1041/1042, the Seljuqs, now the new masters of Khorasan, invaded Anushirvan's domains, which forced him to accept their authority.
January 935: Ali and Ahmad conquered Khuzistan, while Hasan captured the Ziyarid capital of Isfahan, and, in 943, captured Rey, which became his capital, thus conquering all of Jibal.
January 939: Central iran with Hamadan, Kashan e Isfahan conquered by Ziyarid Dynasty.
January 940: In 939, the Samanid governor Abu 'Ali Chaghani attacked Gorgan, a city in Iran. Vushmgir, the Ziyarid ruler of Gorgan, sought aid from Makan, a local ruler, but the city eventually fell to the Samanid forces after a prolonged siege.
January 941: Hasan furthered the Ziyarid's troubles by retaking Isfahan in 940.
January 981: The Ziyarid ruler was expelled by the Buyid ruler Adud al-Dawla in 980, because he gave refuge to the latter's rival and brother Fakhr al-Dawla.
January 999: The Buyids dominate Tabaristan.
