Was one of the four independent judicates into which the island of Sardinia was divided in the Middle Ages.
Establishment
January 1001: The Judicate of Cagliari was established around 1000 by Mariano I Salusio I.

1. Events
January 1219: After Elena of Gallura's death, his husband Lamberto continued to rule Gallura and eventually married the heiress of Cagliari, ruling both Judicates.
January 1226: Lamberto Visconti ruled over Cagliari and Gallura until his death in 1225. He was succeeded by his son Ubaldo in Gallura and by his brother Ubaldo in Cagliari.
Disestablishment
January 1259: William III was deposed and the Judicate of Cagliari was divided into three parts and divided between the Judicate of Gallura, which included the north-eastern part (Ogliastra, Sarrabus), the Judicate of Arborea, which annexed the central-northern area, and the della Gherardesca family, which was responsible for the western region of Sulcis-Iglesiente.
