Description
Was a Sunni Muslim dynasty of Berber descent who ruled Ifriqiya (western Libya, Tunisia, and eastern Algeria) from 1229 to 1574.
Was a Sunni Muslim dynasty of Berber descent who ruled Ifriqiya (western Libya, Tunisia, and eastern Algeria) from 1229 to 1574. It became a tributary of Spain after the Spanish conquest of Tunis. In 1574 it became part of the Ottoman Empire.
Was a French protectorate over Tunisia established with the Bardo Treaty of 12 May 1881. Tunisia became independent in 1956.
