Neustria was one of the many Frankish Teilreiche (polities emerging from the hereditary divisions of the Frankish Kingdom that repeatedly divided and reunited). Neustria was the western part of the Kingdom of the Franks. It was created and dissolved several times. The last time it was created for the division of the Kingdom between Charlemagne and his brother Carloman I.
