The Teutonic Order was created in the Kingdom of Jerusalem but after the defeat of the Christian forces in the Middle East, it moved to Transylvania to help the Kingdom of Hungary against the Cumans. Here the Order created a factually independent domain until they were expelled by King Andre II of Hungary in 1225.
