Is a country in Western Asia, on the Mediterranean coast. Located on the territory of the ancient Kingdom of Israel, it was slowly colonized from the end of the XIX century by Jewish immigrants with the aim of creating a nation there. After World War II the wave of immigration increased further due to the Holocaust. The Palestinian War between the Jewish and Arab population started after the British left their Mandate in Palestine. Israel was officially created in 1948 and was able to conquer most of the the former British Mandate.
