1. Battles in al-Haffah

    Were a series of battles in and around Tell Abyad, in the Raqqa Governatorate, during the Syrian Civil War.

  • January 2014: Tell Abyad falls under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
  • June 2015: The Kurdish People's Defense Units (YPG) and Free Syrian Army (FSA) captured Tal Abyad from ISIS.
  • October 2019: As part of the 2019 Turkish offensive into north-eastern Syria, the Turkish Armed Forces and the Syrian National Army captured Tel Abyad.

  • July 2015: Ayn Issa was shortly recaptured by ISIL militants.
  • July 2015: Ayn Issa was reclaimed by the Kurdish People's Defense Units (YPG) in early July.
