    Was a conflict between England and the Dutch Republic partly for control over the seas and trade routes.

  • June 1667: The Battle of Nevis in 1667 was a significant naval engagement between the English and French forces in the Caribbean. The English victory, led by Admiral Sir John Harman, resulted in the recapture of Antigua and Montserrat from the French, solidifying English naval control in the region.
