Period of Ethiopian vassalage of the Sultanate of Dahlak, a small medieval kingdom covering the Dahlak Archipelago and parts of the African Red Sea coast in what is now Eritrea.
Establishment
- January 1501: By the 15th century, the economy of the sultanate was not only in decline, but it was also forced to pay tribute to the emperors of Ethiopia.
