Is an archipelago that lies north to the British Isles, in the Atlantic Ocean. Colonized by the Norsement fom ca. 800 AD, today it is an autonomous region of Denmark.

Establishment

April 1948: The Faroe Islands were in 1948 granted extended self-governance within the Danish Realm with the signing of the Home Rule Act of the Faroe Islands.
