January 1201: Bono State was a trading state created by the Bono people, located in what is now southern Ghana.

Expansion during the rule of Opoku Ware I in the Ashanti Empire.
January 1724: In 1723 Bono-Manso was conquered by the Asantehene (Ashanti king) Opoku Ware I and incorporated into the Ashanti kingdom.
