February 962: The Frisian freedom (German: Friesische Freiheit) was period of absence of feudalism in Frisia during the Middle Ages.

The Frankish Kingdom was partitioned and reuinited several times as the Frankish rulers used to divide their territories equally among their heirs. This lead also to a number of wars and revolts.
1.1.Incoronation of Otto I
East Frankish King Otto I was crowned first Holy Roman Emperor.

2.1.Third War of the Guelderian Succession
Was the third war over the succession of the Duchy of Gueldria.
January 1515: George, Duke of Saxony, an ally of the Habsburgs, attempted to subdue Friesland, Ommelanden and Groningen. He occupied Leeuwarden and Harlingen en Franeker.
January 1025: Establishment of the Utrecht Prince-Bishopric.
January 1081: In 1080, Breda Lordship was first mentioned as an imperial immediate fief.
January 1097: The county of Geldern emerged about 1096, when Gerard III of Wassenberg was first documented as "Count of Guelders".
January 1101: The Kuilenburg Lordship emerged from the noble family of the same name, which was already mentioned in the 12th century. Its castle Culenburg and the associated town of Culemborg lay on the river Lek.
January 1151: From around 1150, the lords of Cuijk owned thie Ravenstein Lordship.
January 1151: The County of Holland split off from Bishopric of Utrecht.
January 1290: In 1289 Medemblik received city rights from Floris V, count of Holland.

January 1429: In 1359 Edo Wiemken the Elder is said to have succeeded in uniting the dominions of the three chiefs in Rüstringen, Östringen and Wangerland, who had also ended the period of so-called Frisian freedom here, under his own reign [...] From 1428 onwards the destroyed castle in Jever was rebuilt as Jever Castle and from then on served as a residence for the chiefs of the Jever dominion.
January 1466: Establishment of the Ostfriesland County.
January 1478: Based on Gustav Droysen's Map of the Holy Roman Empire in the XV century.
January 1499: The Imperial City of Groningen becomes independent.
January 1518: In December 1517 Christoph, Archbishop of Bremen, sent an enormous army of mercenaries into the county of Wursten. After vigorous but futile resistance, the Wurster lost in the Battle of the Wremer Deep.
January 1519: Under the pressure of the archbishop's excessive demands, an uprising broke out in Frisia.
Disestablishment
January 1525: It was not until 1524 that the archbishop was able to collect enough soldiers to recapture Wursten.
