Was an ancient kingdom located in northwestern Iran, south of Lake Urmia.

Establishment

January 899 BC: The first mentions of the Mannaeans come from Assyrian inscriptions of the 9th century BC under the reign of Shalmaneser III.

1. Campaigns of Sargon II

Military campaigns of Assyrian king Sargon II.

January 716 BC: The Assyrians only subjugated Manna, and also built fortresses in Media and Persia (Kar-Sharrukin and Kar-Nergal).

2. Campaigns of Cyaxares

January 611 BC: It is unclear when Manna arose in the Meded Empire. Assyria fellin - 610, Urartu (Tušpa) around -590.

3. Further events (Unrelated to Any War)

January 804 BC: Ishpuini was a king of the Kingdom of Urartu, a powerful ancient kingdom in the region of Lake Urmia. He is known for submitting the area of Lake Urmia, including the village of Parsua, and for conquering the region of Musasir during his reign in -805.

January 629 BC: After the death of Ashurbanipal and the start of the Scythian campaigns around 630, Assyria was largely eliminated as a power factor. Presumably Manna was able to restore his independence.
