  • February 962: Count Aubry of Mâcon bought the Lordship of Salins in 942, whose importance at the time was based primarily on its convenient location between France, Germany and Italy.

  • January 1225: The Duke of Burgundy, Hugh IV, bought Salins in 1224.

  • January 1238: The Duke of Burgundy, Hugh IV, acquired Salins in 1224. In 1237, he exchanged the territory with Jean de Châlon for two counties.

  • Disestablishment


  • January 1385: During the 14th century, Salins gradually came under the domination of the Dukes of Burgundy. The city notably came into the possession of Philippe le Hardi during the union of the two Burgundies, on the death of Louis de Male, on January 30, 1384.
