After the War of the Spanish Succession, the Treaty of Utrecht assigned the Kingdom of Sicily to the Savoy Synasty. In 1734 they gave Sicily to the Austrian Habsburgs and received Sardinia in return. However, in 1734 Sicily was conquered by the Kingdom of Naples.
