Was a polity in the eastern part of the North Caucasus, with its capital in the ancient town of Tarki. With the Treaty of Gulistan (1813) that ended the Russo-Persian War of 1804-1813, the Shamkalate was put under Russian control, and was later inglobated in the Russian state.
