January 406: In 405/406, the road opened by Alaric was retraced by a new horde of barbarians united under the leadership of the Ostrogoth Radagaisus, who desolated the regions of central-northern Italy, before being stopped in Fiesole by Stilicone, thanks to the intervention of Hun and Goth auxiliary troops.
