January 688: Rebellion by Alachis who, in that same year, managed to drive king Pertaritus out of the capital Pavia and force him to take refuge on the Comacina Island. In 689, thanks to the support of the Catholic population and clergy, king Pertaritus was able to set up an army with which he faced the usurper in the battle of Coronate, along the Adda which marked the border between Austria and Neustria. The battle, in which Alachis fell, ended in victory for the legitimate ruler.
