January 456: On the death of Rechiaro, in 456, after the sack of Braga, Aiulfo became king of the Swabians, with the support of the king of the Visigoths Theodoric II. However, a part of the Swabians did not accept Aiulfo as king, but appointed another king, Framta. Aiulfo found himself having to face Framta for the crown. In June 457, in Castro do Porto, he was assassinated by Maldraso who replaced him on the throne. Shortly after, King Framta also died, so Maldraso found himself reigning alone, without opponents.
