January 460: In 460, on the death of his father, he ascended the throne, but was immediately dethroned by Fromaro, who settled in the south of the kingdom while at the same time his brother, Ricimondo occupied the north of the kingdom. The civil war lasted for about five years and ended only after the death of the two contenders, Fromaro and Ricimondo which occurred, for both, in 465. In the same year, according to the chronicles of Hydatius, Remismondo reunited the kingdom again under a only crown being officially recognized as the only king of the Swabians.
