January 1765: 1765-1771: The Settlement War or Regulator movement was a revolt in the Carolina colony in British North America, lasting from 1765 to 1771, in which citizens took up arms against colonial officials. While the rebellion did not change the power structure, some historians consider it a catalyst for the American Revolutionary War.
