Military campaign of Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Seti I in Nubia due to a revolt in the region.
January 1287 BC: In the 8th year of the reign of Seti I, father of Ramses, the report of a revolt in Nubia (today's Sudan), in the land of Irem (Kush), west of the third cataract of the Nile, reached the court. A strategic maneuver designed by Seti I in the winter of 1287 BC. it allowed a detachment of tanks and infantry to put down the uprising in just seven days.
January 1276 BC: While still crown prince, between the 13th and 14th regnal years of Seti I, Rameses undertook military action south of the first cataract of the Nile.
