  • January 601: In 601-602 the truce was broken and some northern dukes rebelled against the king. Backed by the Byzantines, in Parma they captured Duke Godescalco and his wife, daughter of Agilulf. Agilulf's reaction was very harsh; he defeated and killed the rebels and subsequently conquered Padua for the first time for the Lombards.
