Establishment
January 570: Alodia was founded sometime after the ancient kingdom of Kush fell, in around 350 AD. Alodia is first mentioned in historical records in 569.

1. Events
January 701: With the collapse of the Kingdom of Aksum around the year 700 CE, Beja clans invaded and established several kingdoms in present-day Eritrea.
January 703: In 702, the Kingdom of Aksum regained control of the coastal area of the Dahlak Archipelago, including the city of Jedda. This marked a significant victory for Aksum in their efforts to expand their territory and influence in the region.
January 1138: Medri Bahri emerged in the 12th century.
January 1277: In 1276, the Kingdom of al-Abwab gained independence from Alodia in the region between Abu Hamad and Soba. Alodia was a medieval Christian kingdom located in present-day Sudan, while the Kingdom of al-Abwab was a neighboring state in the same region.
January 1501: Oral traditions assert its establishment to refugees from the Nubian kingdom of Alodia, after its capital Soba had fallen to Arabs or the Funj in c. 1500, centered around the mountainous region of Fazughli on the Blue Nile.
Disestablishment
January 1505: Funji conquest of the Alodia capital Sobia.
