January 721 BC: Shěn (Linquan) was one of the various Chinese states during the Zhou dynasty and the Spring and Autumn period located in modern-day Henan.
January 505 BC: Change based on available maps for the Spring and Autumn period and Warring States period.
January 499 BC: The exact date of the cessation of the state is unknown. However, it is known that the State of Cai defeated Shěn at around 500 BC.
Disestablishment
