Was on of the successor states of the Turkic Khaganate that split in 581 AD. It controlled territories in Mongolia.
Establishment
January 582: In 581, the fourth Eastern Turkic khagan, Taspar Qaghan, died. There were four claimants to throne.

In 581, the fourth Göktürk khagan, Taspar Qaghan, died. A civil war erupted between the four claimants to the throne.
January 585: In 584 Ishbara Qaghan raided Apa Qaghan's territory and killed the Apa Qaghan's mother. Apa Qaghan took refuge in the west.
January 600: After Ishbara and Apa died the east was held by Ishbara's brother Bagha Qaghan (587-89) and Ishbara's son Tulan Qaghan (589-99), while the west remained under Tardush (587-603). After Tulan's death Tardush briefly reunified east and west.
January 604: Division of the First Turkic Khaganate into Western and Eastern Khaganates.

January 631: Eastern Turkic Khaganate conquered by Tang Dynasty. Only the part that became the Anbey Protectorate was annexed.
September 640: Hou Junji was a general of the Tang Dynasty, known for his military campaigns in the Western Regions. Gaochang was a kingdom located in present-day Xinjiang, China. The establishment of Xi Prefecture in place of Gaochang solidified Tang control over the region in 640.
January 641: Expansion of the Tang Dynasty by 640 AD.
January 646: Tang forces reconquered the Anbey protectorate.
2.1.Campaigns against the Tarim Basin oasis states
Were a series of campaigns by Tang China against the petty kingdoms of the Tarim Basin.
Was an offensive in winter 629 of the Tang Dynasty, under the command of general Li Jing that led to the destruction of the Eastern Turkic Khaganate.
January 631: The Xueyantuo Khanate launched the offensive in winter 629, with the major general Li Jing in command, and in 630, after Li Jing captured Ashina Duobi, the Eastern Turkic Khaganate was destroyed. Subsequently, control of the territory north of Tang (check mate ak.w.m) largely fell to Xueyantuo.
