Was a medieval Welsh kingdom formed via the merger of the kingdoms of Glywysing and of Gwent.
Establishment
January 631: King Morgan the Generous united the Welsh kingdoms of Gwent and Glywysing into Morgannwg.

1. Events
January 746: After the death of Welsh king Ithel ap Morgan his sons divided the kingdom into Gwent and Glywysing.
January 943: King Morgan the Old was a ruler of the Kingdom of Glywysing, which later merged with Gwent under his reign. This union led to the formation of the Kingdom of Morgannwg. In 942, Gwent and Glywysing were temporarily united under King Morgan's rule.
January 943: King Morgan the Old was a ruler of the Kingdom of Morgannwg from 942 to 974. During his reign, the kingdom merged with Gwent, leading to the change in name to Morgannwg. This union occurred around 942, temporarily uniting Gwent and Glywysing under his rule.
January 975: After the death of Morgan the Old, Gwent and Glywysing were separated again from 974.
August 1063: On Gruffydd's death in 1063, Glywysing was regained by the native lineage under Caradog ap Gruffudd. Morgannwg, the union between Gwent and Glywysing, was reconstituted.
Disestablishment
January 1092: The last native King of Morgannwyg and Glywysing was Iestyn ap Gwrgan (1081-1090), who was subsequently deposed by Robert Fitzhamon.
