Was a Serer/Wolof kingdom in present-day Senegal and Gambia.
Establishment
January 1495: In 1494, the first King of Saloum from the Guelwar period ascended to the throne in present-day Senegal. This marked the beginning of a new era in the Kingdom of Saloum, a West African state known for its rich history and cultural heritage.

January 1501: The Kingdom of Saloum in Senegal was a traditional kingdom founded at the end of the 15th century by the "Gelwaar" nobles of the Kingdom of Kaabu in the south.
January 1550: After the Battle of Danki were the forces of the Jolof Empire were defeated by the rebellious vassal of Cayor, the Empire disintegrated and was reduced to a Rump state.
January 1591: The Portuguese made contact with the kingdom in 1590. The kingdom of Saloum conquered the neighboring kingdom of Sine and controlled it for a long period.
January 1601: Establishment of Niani.
January 1601: Foundation of the Kingdom of Niumi, also known as the Kingdom of Barra.
January 1701: Establishment of Niamina.
January 1701: Establishment of the Baddibu Kingdom.
January 1810: The Rip is a small former state in West Africa located between the Kingdom of Saloum and the right bank of the Gambia River. Kingdom of marabout Maba Diakhou Bâ (1809-1867).
Disestablishment
January 1851: Although the Kingdom of Saloum won some major battles against the French, it was eventually conquered in 1850.
