Establishment

January 1501: Kwararafa Confederacy was a multiethnic state and/or confederacy centered along the Benue River valley in what is today central Nigeria.

January 1536: Biu or Viyu state is founded.

January 1601: Jukun state founded and centered at Kwararafa.

February 1804: The Sokoto Caliphate was a sovereign Sunni Muslim caliphate in West Africa that was founded during the jihad of the Fulani War in 1804 by Usman dan Fodio.
