Establishment
April 502: The Southern Qi was succeeded by the Liang Dynasty (502-557).

1. Events
January 507: In spring 506, Wei Rui, a general fo the Liang Dynasty, was able to capture Hefei.
May 526: In spring 525, the Northern Wei general Yuan Faseng (元法僧) surrendered the key city of Pengcheng (彭城, in modern Xuzhou, Jiangsu) to Liang.
September 526: However, in summer 525, Emperor Wu's son Prince Xiao Zong (蕭綜), grew suspicions that he was actually the son of Southern Qi's emperor Xiao Baojuan (because his mother Consort Wu was formerly Xiao Baojuan's concubine and had given birth to him only seven months after she became Emperor Wu's concubine), surrendered Pengcheng to Northern Wei, ending Liang's advances in the northeast.
January 527: Shouyang fell to Liang troops .
January 542: Lý Bí revolted against Liang dynasty.
January 554: Although smaller than the Eastern Wei in territory and population, Western Wei was able to withstand the attacks from the eastern empire. Due to its better economical conditions, Western Wei was even able to conquer the whole western part of the Liang empire in the south and occupied the territory of modern Sichuan.
January 555: In 555, Jiankang fell to the rebel leader Hou Jing during the Liang Dynasty. Hou Jing was a general who seized control of the city and established his own regime, leading to the downfall of the Liang Dynasty.
January 556: As the relationship between Emperor Yuan and Western Wei was deteriorating, in 555, Western Wei army sacked Jiangling, forcing Emperor Yuan to surrender, and killed Emperor Yuan as well as his sons before installing Xiao Cha as emperor of (Western) Liang at Jiangling. From 555 to 557 Western Liang was subservient to the Western Wei.
November 557: In 557, Jiangling, a strategic city in China, fell to the Western Wei dynasty led by Emperor Yuwen Yu. This event marked a significant victory for the Western Wei in their expansion efforts and solidified their control over the region.
November 557: In 557, Chen Baxian established the new powerful Chen dynasty.
