Establishment
January 801: The Caribs arrived around 800 AD on the Island of St. Lucia, and seized control from the Arawaks by killing their men and assimilating the women into their own society.

1. Events
January 1351: The more war-like Kalinago (Island Caribs) arrived in Barbados from South America in the 12th-13th centuries.
January 1451: The Island Caribs, also known as the Kalinagos, were a group of indigenous people who inhabited the Caribbean islands. They were known for their fierce resistance against European colonization and their practice of warfare. By the 15th century, they had violently displaced the Arawak people from the island of Dominica.
January 1501: Barbados was visited by Spanish navigators like Alonso de Ojeda and Juan de la Cosa in the late 15th century. It was claimed for the Spanish Crown, but later abandoned due to lack of resources and interest in colonization.
September 1635: In 1635, Martinique was colonized by the Compagnie des Îles de l'Amérique, a French trading company.
January 1663: Thomas Warner (son of Sir Thomas Warner, the governor of St Kitts) claimed Saint Lucia for England. He brought 1,000 men to defend it from the French, but after two years, only 89 survived with the rest dying mostly due to disease.
Disestablishment
January 1701: French colonization of Dominica.
