Establishment


  • November 1341: The Nizhny Novgorod-Suzdal principality was formed in October 1341, when the Khan of the Golden Horde, Uzbek Khan, divided the Vladimir Grand Duchy, transferring Nizhny Novgorod and Gorodets to the Suzdal Prince Konstantin Vasilyevich.

  • January 1342: The Principality of Suzdal is reabsorbed by the Nizhny Novgorod-Suzdal Grand Duchy.

  • January 1379: The Shuisky principality arose in 1378.

  • January 1391: The Palekh Principality is established in the Ivanovo region on the Paleshka River.

  • January 1404: In 1403, the Gorodets principality was annexed by the Nizhny Novgorod-Suzdal Grand Duchy. This marked the end of the independent rule of the principality, which had been established in 1264.

  • January 1425: The Nizhny Novgorod-Suzdal Grand Duchy was annexed by the Grand Duchy of Moscow.
